Patricia Heffernan is a passionate advocate with lived experience in the foster and juvenile justice systems, bringing a unique perspective to systemic solutions. Patti's experience in community engagement and peer support helps bridge gaps between families and services. As the Executive Director of Helios Recovery Services, she drives systems change, supports CPS-involved families, and advances trauma-informed care to empower communities.
Jesse Heffernan
Jesse Heffernan is passionate about helping individuals access quality recovery services and fostering meaningful collaborations. He is a results-driven Community Outreach Representative and Behavioral Health Strategist with 20+ years of experience in substance use treatment, mental health advocacy, and strategic partnership development.
Helios Recovery Recognizes that the drug war and antiquated, iatrogenic, punitive addiction treatment methods have created disempowered experiences and services. This experience is especially true for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)/LGBTQQIA+ and other abled people’s bodies, minds, and spirits.
We are committed to developing/providing culturally responsive and effective recovery supports to create a collective path forward to challenge racial/gender/orientation, ability privilege culture, and the devastation it has wrought inside and outside the recovery community.

Our name, Helios, connects to the Greek sun god of vitality and renewal. Our emblem, the hydrogen atom, embodies the sun's core composition and fuels its immense energy and continuous transformation. Through specialized training and discerning consulting, we equip leaders with essential skills, the building blocks of transformation. We empower core change within individuals and organizations in Recovery Support Services and Behavioral Health.
